Alsum Produce, Inc.

In business since 1973, Alsum Produce grows, packs and distributes potatoes and onions. Alsum is committed to purchasing from local family farmers and are currently packing both conventional and certified organic Russets, Reds, Goldens, Fingerlings and Blues.  They are also certified to pack organic yellow onions.

Alsum Produce is a family affair.  Larry Alsum and wife Paula are the President and Vice President of the company. Sons Tim and Chad, and daughters Heidi and Wendy all have served many roles in making the company a success.  Last but not least is son Noah whose only role right now is to pick up his toys in the office when he’s finished playing.

Why have you chosen to pack organic potatoes and onions?
Our main focus at Alsum is to be a full service supplier of all varieties of potatoes and onions. We enjoy seeing farmers get excited about their crop and their belief in what they are doing. We are committed to helping out the smaller organic grower who believes in what they are doing to help the environment.

Where would you like to see your business in the future?
We sell both conventional and organic products and believe in supplying whatever our consumers want. In the future we would like to be known as one of the largest packers of organic potatoes and onions in the Midwest, supplying all major chains from the Midwest to the East coast.
